What to expect

Playa Garza is one of Costa Rica?s long-established billfish destinations. From Garza Bay, deep water can be reached in about 30 minutes. Trips may travel 15?18 miles offshore to blue water around 1,500?2,000 feet deep.

Techniques include trolling, speed trolling and popping. Possible catches include black marlin, blue marlin, striped marlin, Pacific sailfish, wahoo, mahi-mahi and large yellowfin tuna.
